Frequently Asked Questions

What is Impossible Cloud Network?

Impossible Cloud Network (ICN) is building a permissionless, composable and truly open ecosystem to challenge Big Tech monopolies like Amazon Web Services (AWS).

How does it work?

With resilient, high-performance decentralized cloud services, ICN lays the foundation for a scalable, secure, and community-driven ecosystem supporting enterprise, AI, gaming, and applications. With real-world adoption, proven leadership, and a vision for 200+ decentralized cloud services, ICN offers a true alternative to centralized control

What is a HyperNode?

How can I participate and earn rewards?

Impossible Cloud Network (ICN) is building a permissionless, composable and truly open ecosystem to challenge Big Tech monopolies like Amazon Web Services (AWS).

What are the benefits of using the ICN compared to existing services?

ICN offers an open ecosystem, allowing anyone to contribute - with enterprise-grade hardware, cloud services as least performant as traditional ones or by running a Hypernode that ensure the ecosystem’s integrity. This permissionless and composable  architecture is the next evolution of cloud - free from control.

Can you explain the role of Hardware Providers (HPs) and Service Providers (SPs)?

Hardware providers (HPs) and service providers (SPs) are two key layers of the network. Hardware providers supply the network with enterprise-grade hardware such as GPUs for AI computing or NVMEs for storage. They are contributing their hardware out of professional data centers and are in exchange rewarded with our native token.
Service providers are individuals or entities that develop and sell cloud services. These services can include AI computing or storage - just like the first service provider of the ecosystem, Impossible Cloud GmbH. We also anticipate next gen offerings such as AI agents.

How is data security addressed in the ICN?

There are a few layers of data security. On the outset, our decentralized setup ensures an ecosystem free from corporate control. Hardware providers undergo a vigorous selection process - ensuring they are providing enterprise-grade hardware out of data centers with relevant certification (e.g., ISO, SOC) . Service providers may offer product security feature such as identity access management.
